A story can captivate, inspire and bring about lasting change.

We help brands tell stories of their own.

What makes us

Flying Mile Films was founded by award-winning director Ben Lawrie to make documentary-style films for brands.

The company's staff come from backgrounds in primetime broadcast TV, producing and directing headline-grabbing, character-driven films, with audiences in the millions, for major channels like Discovery and the BBC.

All our films, from 30 second shorts for social media to full-length features for global TV distribution, have a premium, broadcast TV documentary ‘feel’.

Fresh and authentic, they are a world away from the heavy-handed commercials of the past.

Viewers stay glued to an immersive story, captivated by the quality of the filmmaking.

Our work is characterised by meticulous attention to detail and dynamic, cinematic beauty.

People – and their own personal stories – are at the heart of everything we do.

 Did you know?

Stories are 22x more memorable than facts.

88% of visitors stay longer on a site with prominent video.

Viewers retain 95% of a message from video vs. 10% from text.

Video on a landing page can increase conversion by 80%.

80% of global internet traffic is video.

Posting a video online is easy.

Making a film that stands out is much harder.

Getting such a film onto the world's premier video on demand platforms is even harder still.

At Flying Mile Films, we not only make the finest documentary-style films, but also manage their distribution - ensuring that they find a wide global audience.

Our latest film, a 57-minute documentary feature, tells the remarkable story of Jaguar's first ever electric car.

With exclusive access to Jaguar's legendary design studio and high-tech engineering facilities, the film provides a remarkable window into one of the world's most famous companies.

We launched the film in autumn 2018 on all the major video on demand platforms, including iTunes and Amazon Prime.  Jaguar helped promote the film through their own media channels and press contacts.

The film began trending on Amazon Prime less than a month later, placing it directly in front of Amazon's 5 million UK subscribers in the 'Trending Movies' section on the site's landing page.

In addition to the 57-minute version of the Going Electric, we also made a 48-minute 'international version' (the duration of a commercial one-hour show once ad breaks are included).

We are distributing this globally - to international broadcasters, airlines and educational establishments, marketing the film at the major film festivals and distribution showcases, such as MIPCOM in Cannes.

Please get in touch to find out how we can help bring your brand's story to a global audience.

Flying Mile Films offers a fully inclusive production service, managing everything from initial story development to finished film distribution.

We are agile, collaborative and globally experienced, with a flexible structure that allows us to work direct-to-client or through an agency.

We can develop new projects from scratch or help to finesse existing ideas.

Our broadcast TV heritage ensures that we work quickly and economically, often much more so than traditional corporate production companies.

We operate with minimal overheads, and take pride in delivering on time and on budget.  Production funds – no matter how large or small – are always directed towards the screen.

With extensive freelance contacts across the industry, we can assemble the finest crew for even the most specialised of films.

Whether your project is for a mobile phone or a movie theatre, our goal is always to craft the best film, whatever the brief and whatever the budget.
